Non-Native Species Detection
Cawthron has a range of eDNA tools available to detect unwanted species, pathogens, harmful algae, and other species of interest.

eDNA Tests for Non-Natives
Our team is often asked to consult on the detection of non-native species in our waterways because we have eDNA testing capabilities on site and many years of experience developing sampling and monitoring programs.
For unwanted species, single-species eDNA detection tools can be deployed rapidly and across a wide area to assist surveillance operations. There is often a need to act quickly in order to prevent establishment.
Below is a selection of assays for non-native species but talk to us if your species of interest is not there. Part of our service includes new test development by our team of experts.
